Kungshamra Garden

Welcome to Kungshamra Garden

A place for all Kungshamra tenants who enjoy planting or want to learn about it!

About the Garden

On the Kungshamra campus, we have ~15 raised beds for planting vegetables, fruits, or flowers (we love the bees). These beds make up our garden, which is available and free of charge for all tenants. Currently, there are no fixed dates for gardening; do it whenever you see fit. To facilitate coordination within our garden community (e.g., identifying vacant spots), we've organised a WhatsApp group. Feel free to join via the LinkTree in the Kungshamra Tenant group or contact us via email at garden@kungshamra.nu.

Gardening Season

As the weather warms up, it's time to prepare for the gardening season! While most plants don't thrive in the cold, you can start by pre-growing some seeds on your windowsill inside your home. Tip: Pay attention to each seed's recommended planting time on the packaging.

Almost everything you need to start planting is available for borrowing from Café Pablo (Kungshamra 43 C) during KostNix every Wednesday from 20:00 to 21:00. Whether it's tools, seeds, or soil, you can find them there. We understand that this timing might not be convenient for everyone, and we're actively working on making these resources more accessible to you as soon as possible.

Stay tuned for updates on improved accessibility and additional resources to support your gardening endeavours. Let's make this gardening season a green and flourishing one for our community!

The Golden Rule

Respect what others have planted. Please avoid taking anything unless you're certain it's beyond saving. For example, there are strawberries in some beds, these resilient plants can survive winter; let's leave them be. When in doubt, reach out! It's better to ask than to remove something unintentionally.

My Role as Garden Coordinator

As the garden coordinator, my role is to facilitate and ensure you have everything you need—tools, seeds, soil and to be the connection between the garden, the garners (you) and the board of the tenant association. If you require anything, please reach out via e-mail, and I'll do my best to assist you!

Location

The garden is situated between buildings number 48 and 51.

Let's nurture our garden together and create a thriving green space for everyone to enjoy!
